Aubrey Briard History.
Our Kennel began during 2005 when deciding on what breed may best suit our busy lifestyle. After owning Skye terriers for many years and not being big enough to run with, I wanted a breed that looked like them but was bigger.
I came across an advert for the briard and went to visit. I ended up coming home with Bodie CH Bordeaux Dor D' Angevin from the long established NZ kennel Angevin owned by Linda Shove. We fell in love with Bodie and decided to purchase a sister from the next litter toward the end of 2006 Ebonnie Ch Ebonne Noire D' Angevin

We managed to show both briards but after lots of discussion with other breeders and judges decided to bring new lines into the country.
This sent us to Australia. It wasn't easy to find a suitable kennel at first but eventually we became very close friends with Dave & Jo Bartley the owners of Tiahart Briards.
They had just imported a stunning male from Canada CH Chaotics Bigfoot Du Tiahart and Bred him to their lovely Grand Ch Tiahart Im A Star.
From this litter the beautiful Chai RUBIS Multi group winner Ch Tiahart Chai Latte arrived in NZ at the end of 2007.
Having been so impressed with Chai and her success in the show ring, we approached Tiahart for another pup.
Toward the end of 2008 we welcomed Ch Tiahart Dejavoo aka Dante. Dante was a half sister to Chai sharing the same sire.
At the same time in Canada Chaotic Briards were expecting a lovely litter.
From this litter Ch Chaotics Dexter Down Under was born and started the 11 month process of prepping for his flight and quarantine in New Zealand.

It was around this time in 2009 Aubrey Briards welcomed their first litter.
This was from the lovely Ch Ebonne Noire D' Angevin and Tiahart Optical illusion. This is where it all began really. This was to be the beginning of our kennel and all our original briards are behind all of our outstanding briards today.
During 2010 we imported a mature breeding bitch Triskeles Ruby Tuesday Imp UK. She was supposed to arrive to NZ in pup by a nice male from the UK but sadly she didn't take.
She did go on to produce two lovely litters later on.
Then we welcomed Gilcoru Wirra Wirra D'brie imp UK. A lovely black boy sire by ENG Ch Forte Negro At Gilcoru Duovarius Imp Poland. Forte was an outstanding male and Pepito his son passed many of his great attributes on.

Pepito produced two stunning litters in New Zealand and then later on moved to Australia and produced two very large litters.
Pepito also carried the dilute gene. When he had litters with Chai and then Dante who also carried the blue gene each litter produced a blue pup.

During 2012 we started the search for a new bloodline that would help enhance or line.
Yvonne Briscoe owned a lovely male ENG Ch Kshan Kool Kriminal (UK).
With Yvonne's help we were able to import frozen semen and in 2013 Dante produced 6 lovely pups.
In memory of Yvonne who passed away from a long battle with cancer we named the litter after her.
We kept a male "Briscoe" and Female "Vonnie".
Both Briards went on to produce lovely offspring.

During 2014 the new search for yet another new bloodline lead us back to the UK.
This time a very nice male that had not been used much at stud but has since produced some top winning Briards.
Elite Briard Embrujo At Salieri (imp Spain to UK) and Tiahart Chai Latte produced two lovely pups a dog and bitch at the beginning of 2015.
Kibosh proudly owned by Moira Howarth and Quincey lovingly owned by Faye Collins.
Both Briards have given beautiful progeny.

Toward the end of 2017 we were approached by a New Caledonian breeder and asked if we wanted the opportunity to import a very stunning bitch puppy.
Moira Howarth decided she would purchase a male and in December of that year Quill and Shadow touched down and quarantined in Christchurch.
Both pups were very nice but their pedigrees were even more impressive.
Sadly Quill was to shy and didn't enjoy the show ring and Shadow was unable to have that opportunity.
On Christmas day 2019 Shadow delivered 12 AI pups sired by Eng Ch Kshan Kool Kriminal.
This was an amazing litter and the pups are growing well and look very promising.
From the Festive litter we kept Bella and George.

During 2018 our very close friends Andreas and Carmen the owners of Carmandy briards sent us a lovely girl Spirit.
Carmandy Amazin Spirit of Oz.
Spirit has an amazing personality and is a stunning clear fawn with beautiful movement.
Due to our commitment to having a young family we have been unable to show her.
Spirit will bring a lot of great attributes to our line and her great grandmother and father are Chai and Dexter!
Her father was imported semen from sire Jones V.H.Klotzicht IMP BELGUIM

Toward the end of 2019 we welcomed the lovely Mr Star to our home.
After helping Dr Kay Sanderson import frozen semen from Belguin for her lovely Tiahart bitch they produced ten stunning puppies.
Kay let me have pick male of the litter and we now have a beautiful young male Merveille Parfait Mr Stars. He has a fantastic personality and fits in so well with the beautiful Aubrey briard calm natures.
His father Marco Polo du Coeur des Tresors imp Belgium has passed on his good looks and stunning easy going nature.
