Welcome
Aubrey Briards was founded in 2006
with the arrival of our first Briard, Bodie.
Since then, we have developed our own line of Briards, creating a cherished fur family alongside our human family. We take great pleasure in meeting others who share our passion for the breed. We invite you to visit us at our home on the West Coast of the South Island, where we reside on a picturesque three-acre lifestyle plot featuring a stunning rainforest river and beautiful gardens.
Our family consists of Gavin and Leanne, along with our three daughters: Lily, Skye, and Aria. Gavin serves as the Head of Music and the Arts at Westport High School. Although we have participated in dog shows over the years, our greatest joy comes from spending time at home with our Briards and family. Briards are exceptional companions who thrive on being part of family activities and exploring the garden with us. We cherish the opportunity to connect with fellow Briard enthusiasts and share our love for this wonderful breed.
Our eldest daughter has recently welcomed her first Briard puppy, Aubrey’s Aphrodite Latte, affectionately known as "Blue J." We hope Blue J will embody the qualities of her late grandmother, Ch Tiahart Chai Latte. We believe that interaction with nature and animals is crucial for children’s development, and our Briards benefit from the companionship and playfulness of our daughters.
In the future, we look forward to returning to the show ring as our children grow. If you are interested in learning more about the Briard breed, please feel free to contact us. We welcome visitors to our home to meet our dogs and are happy to answer any questions you may have. Additionally, if you wish to connect with other Briard owners across the country, we can help facilitate introductions.
